e-Learning….. Learning into the next generation

3.4 Principals of Colour

Choose colours to convey the following:

Friendly – Pastel

Solid – Primary Colours

Weak – Washed out colours

Serious – Blue

Depressed – Black

My program is a corporate design, therefor I will use Blue, Red and Black.

3.3 Visual Design

Ho would

How would visual hierarchy influence learners?

Visual hierarchy is essential. How the visual design is laid out and how you navigate your way through is important. If learners find it difficult they will spend more time on the technology as apposed to the content.

3.2 Principles of Multimedia

What are your recommendations?

VPod cast

Provided examples of multimedia elements you would recommend.

· Multimedia principle: Students learn better from words and pictures than from words alone.

· Individual Differences Principle: Design effects are stronger for low-knowledge learners than for high-knowledge learners and for high-spatial learners rather than low-spatial learners.

3.1 What is Multimedia

How do youHow do you define multimedia in today’s e-Learning context?

Multimedia Multimedia is audio and video, which many years ago was CD’s and videos. Now we have POD and VPOD cast tVPOD cast that can be downloaded through the internet.

The use of The use of these in e-learning greatly enhances the learning experiences.

2.6 Social Learning Theory

How could you apply Bandura’s Social Learning Theory in an e-Learning context?

Social learning theory combines both Behaviorist theory with a Cognitive approach. Bandura’s two key elements are experience and expectations. In an e-Learning environment the trainer must act as a role model. They need to participate in the feedback process, be part of the learning process.

2.5 A Constructivist Approach

How could you apply constructivist learning principles in an e-Learning environment?

- Group Work

- Class Discussions

- Interactive e-Learning

- Project Work

2.4 A Humanist Approach

What effect might e-Learning contexts have for the Humanist approach?

E-Learning that users Humanist approach is self directed learning.

The obvious problem with this type of learning in –learning is that the starting point and prior knowledge of the learners are different within the technology aspect. This aspect can have a great negative impact on the learning.

2.3 A Cognitive Approach

What effect might meaningfulness and insight have in e-Learning contexts?

All learning weather in a e-learning context or not builds on the learners prior learning. Therefore the more meaningful and insight the learner has into the topic the more learning they will get out of the learning.

How can we use Advance Organisers in e-Learning contexts?

Advance organizers or also called scaffold is an essential in the learning context, as it builds on the learners already acquired knowledge. This is especially important in e-learning as a certain computer knowledge is required with all elements of e-learning.

2.2 A Behaviorist Approach

What effect might generalizing have in e-Learning contexts?

As explained in the definition of learning, learning is different things to different people. The problem with generalization is that it groups everyone into the same category. All people learn in different ways. In a e-learning context it assumes that all learners have the same prior knowledge in regards to the use of technology, which within the adult world of learning is not the case.

2.1 What is learning?

Learning is different things to different people. Essentially it is acquiring a skill, knowledge or change in behavior that you did not have prior to the leaning.
